A Letter to Love
A letter to love,
I knew you once,
There was a falseness in the others that were sent
I recognize where I went wrong,
Chasing, nitpicking, crashing and burning,
And burning to dust
I’m so sorry Love,
I didn’t see how you were calm ,
I didn’t see where you did show up for me,
I didn’t see my own insecurities,
Not sure if what you showed me was real ,
I just needed clarity,
But you just need for me to trust how I feel,
At times you left me,
There was silence,
I felt cold ,
I didn’t understand that you gave me all the warmth you had ,
But Love,
I needed to learn ,
That I needed that conscious communication,
That your distance gave me anxiety,
That I required a solid choice.
Do you choose me ?
Not the body, not the face
Not the things I can do
But my Soul,
My fate,
The things I can’t control ,
The winds of change ,
Were you willing to stand by me,
Stand for me,
Rise with me,
Fly with me.
Because no matter how much pain,
I still choose you,
I still choose all the versions of you,
I choose to stay steady,
You picked up the phone
I answered the call ,
Every
Time.
To Love,
For I mistreat you and you return to me relentless,
Reminding me that I am always worthy of you
Slow kissing the scars on all the darkest parts of me,
I am illuminated.
To Love,
Choosing you, means choosing myself,
Choosing to stand with all those versions,
The ones that died in sickness ,
And the ones that lived for health ,
To Love,
I vow to show up for you everyday,
Trust that I shift to hold the parts of me forward,
I just have to have faith that you will do the same.
